FEI World Equestrian Games

FEI World Equestrian Games

While we are counting victories and prepare for the upcoming tournaments such as the famous football competitions, which are super popular in Poland which you can read more about on tarnow.net.pl, it is right to say that the emotions about the 2022 FEI WEG are growing stronger and more prevalent every day. We are still summarizing the impressions of the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games, but 2019 hasn’t left horseback riding and race betting fans without any excitement, for sure.

Another Impressive Year

When it comes to equestrian sporting events, another successful year is slowly coming to an end, and people are already preparing for what the Ladbrokes Cheltenham 2020 offer has in store for them. Unforgettable international events once again attracted the massive attention of audiences and wagers worldwide. The Pan American Games and The FEI European Championships are just part of the calendar that brings together elite athletes, professionals, and equestrian enthusiasts.

How Important Really Are The Games?

FEI World Equestrian Games is an international competition that brings together ten different disciplines into one single championship. Apart from the Olympics, this is the world’s largest competition in horse sports. It has been held every fourth year since 1990 under the patronage of the Fédération Equestre Internationale. The FEI is the global governing organization for equestrian sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), founded in 1921.

Formerly, competitions in these ten disciplines were separated championships that were held in different periods and countries. As the largest equestrian tournament, the Games combine driving, dressage, endurance riding, eventing, para equestrianism, reining, show jumping, vaulting, as well as horseball and tent pegging (still independent championships).

As with all first-class-sport competitions, the Games involve serious preparation, selection, and rigorous qualification of participants. The competition is open for teams that are coming from different countries, represented by professionals in all ten categories.

The championship takes more than two weeks on the calendar and, since the beginning, has been welcomed by different countries. The first World Equestrian Games were located in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1990. Throughout the years, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, and the USA have had the pleasure of hosting this exciting sporting event (the USA even twice, in 2010 and 2018).

The latest Games were held at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, Mill Spring, North Carolina, and they hosted 68 nations.

Great Expectations

Who are the favorites? Which horses showed remarkable results and broke all records and expectations? Which horse would be your betting pick to win the individual title? And which one for the team title? It won’t be an easy choice for equestrian fans. Sure, it won’t be a boring one either. Horses are already saddled up for the upcoming Olympics, while the vision of the forthcoming World Equestrian Games 2022 is still uncertain.

A dozen countries have already offered their hospitality for the next planetary happening. Will the new competition retain the traditional sophistication of the old continent? Maybe FEI will opt for the already well-known impeccable American organization skills, and perhaps will go further and give us an unforgettable futuristic event that only the Emirates can offer? Indeed, we can expect a lot of updates, big surprises, and first-class equestrianism.
