Seven Belgian youth riders travelled to the international dressage show in Travagliato, Italy, November 25-27, 2005, to compete their ponies and horses. Four pony riders and three young riders represented Belgium at this show, and they were assisted by Belgian pony chef d'Equipe Laurence van Doorslaer.

The four pony riders all made their CDI debut in a field of 18 competitors. Belgium's top performer was An Sofie Lenaerts aboard Royale Princess van het Goorhof. They finished in fourth place with 68%, followed by Ans van Hoef on Mausi in fifth place with 67.5%. Babette Vervecken and Ten Ankers Jerolianca landed a 9th place (64.5%) and Hanne Sevens on Brilliant Golden Boy ranked 10th with 63%.

Best performing Belgian Young Rider was Arnaud Reper and his Westfalian gelding Fortissimo. They scored 72%. Yoni de Souter and Pentagon finished in 7th place with 66%.

"There was a really good atmosphere in the Belgian team, despite the winter weather. There was rain and snow during our trip," van Doorslaer said.
