| De Deken and Verliefden Ready for the 2005 European Young Riders Championships in Barzago |
The Belgians' trip to Barzago was a scouting mission prior to the European Championships and turned out to be an excellent preparation for the big event in July. Julie de Deken rode her Hanoverian gelding Widor (by Wanderbusch II x Pikör) to a 65.111% score (6th place) in the team test, a 66.050% (6th) in the individual and a wonderful 69.425% (4th) in the Kur to Music. Fanny Verliefden and her Oldenburg bred Rubel (by Rubinstein) achieved 64.519% (10th) in the team test, 64.200% (9th) in the individual test and 68.575% (5th) in the kur. Chef d'Equipe Dominique Rimanque was extremely pleased with the performance of his two Belgian Young Riders' team members. "It was a scouting mission for me and an excellent rehearsal for the Europeans for the two riders. Julie finished her exams and can start some serious training again. Fanny finally seems ready to consistenlyproduce high marks. They proved that they were selected on the team for a good reason," Rimanque told Junior-Riders.com. |
