The Dressage Commission of the Belgian Equestrian Federation announced today that there will be no 2003 Belgian Championships for Young Dressage Horses. Last year's host, the Equestrian Centre of Rebecq, informed that they could not organize the event this year on their premises. The championships were scheduled to take place in August.

The dressage commission addressed the various clubs in search of another venue but couldn't find a host for this year's championships. Therefore, they decided to cancel the entire event for this year.

Since the Equestrian Academy of Gesves stopped organizing the Belgian Championships for Young Dressage Horses in 1998, the Belgian Championships have never been as exciting, as magical and as special as they were in Gesves. Nor equestrian centre Gerrits, nor the facility in Rebecq were able to create the suspens and competition which accompanied the Belgian Young Horses Championships in Gesves.

The Belgian Championships for pony, junior, young and Grand Prix riders, as well as the finals of the classic circuit for young dressage horses will still take place in Het Azelhof in Lier, October 17 - 19, 2003.
