| Kim Windey and Pavarotti Take the Lead at 3rd Selection Trial | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
At the third selection trial for CDI participation at the Verellen stables in Wiekevorst, Belgium, March 25, 2001, Kim Windey and her dark bay pony Pavarotti took the lead in the team championship test. While there was a complete livestock transportation prohibition in the northern part of Belgium due to the Foot & Mouth disease outbreak in The Netherlands, the third pony selection trial did go on as Wiekevorst lies just underneath the Belgian closed buffer area. Trained by former young rider and current PSG rider Helen Wielockx, the 15-year old Kim Windey scored a solid 65.00%, which is her highest score ever. Clearly making progress, Windey aspires to become a member of the Belgian Pony team for the European Championships. Whether FMD will affect the competition calender during summer, is yet unknown. The lastest news bulletins talk about a further cancellation of animal related activities for at least a month. Show Results
