At the last selection trial for junior and young riders at Le Chevalerie in Brussels, February 28, 2001, Schoten citizen Isabelle Boost made a strong debut on the Oldenburg bred mare Fatima L (Feinbrand x Cardinal xx). Boost scored 63.32% and made the high score of the day at this official selection trial. Boost, who is trained by Ingrid Daelemans, was the only rider able to reach the qualifying score for CDI competitions (63%+).

Chef d'Equipe Leo Joosten was not really pleased with the results. "Besides the riders who were able to score round 63%, the others did quite poorly. Major mistakes were still basic faults which shouldn't have been there. Steady rein contact, impuls problems, not enough collection, and more," said Joosten. "There is still much work to be done and I hope that there will be some improvement at the next trial 8th March at Verellen in Wiekevorst."

The complete Belgian junior/young riders list was not present at this trial. As the footing at Le Chevalerie was in a poor state due to the continual frost, several riders cancelled their entry.
