| Lynn Maiburg Excels at First Pony Trial |
|
16-year-old Lynn Maiburg from Pulderbos, Belgium, was the best rider at the first selection trial for FEI Dressage Ponies in Belgium. With her Dutch Welsh pony Meerke's Kasmhir, Maiburg scored 66.17% at the trial held at Epona Farm in Kortrijk, February 11, 2001. Second placed was Julie de Deken on the NRPS pony gelding Alympia with a score of 65.33%. Maiburg and De Deken left a large gap behind them as third placed Jennifer Bacquet followed in a distance on Zephyr, with 61.83% The trial at Epona farms was the first in a series of trails for the Belgian FEI pony riders in order to qualify for CDI competitions and the European Pony Championships, held in Spain.
