| Top pony with bright future ahead of him
The
six year old Top Yellow is the pony with the brightest future ahead of
him. Bred by the renown German dressage trainer Johan Hinnemann, Top Yellow
descends from an exquisite German Reitpony bloodline. Broken and trained
by Johan and daughter Betinna Hinnemann, Top Yellow quickly came into the
spotlight by winning the 1996 German Dressage Championships for Young Pony
Stallions under Eva Nolden. One year later Betinna Hinnemann claimed the
same title at the 1997 German Championships; Yellow was then 4 years old.
In November 1997 Johan Hinnemann presented his talented palomino stallion
at the Westphalian Pony Stallion licensing. It became an overwhelming success.
Not only was Top Yellow Champion of his licensing year, he also received
the highest score ever awarded to an approved pony stallion. With 150.53
points Top Yellow was 21 points ahead of number two Out-Break (129.82 points).
The palomino received scores between 9.00 and 9.50 on performance, 8.50
on his behaviour, 9.50 on walk, 8.50 on trot and 9.00 on canter.
As Johan Hinnemann trains Coby van Baalen, the Meiresonne family easily
came in contact
with him. Top Yellow was purchased with the aspiration to enter him in
the 1999 European Pony Championships. Throughout 1998 Delphine trained
hard with the young Top Yellow, making vast progress that year. She became
the Guelders Champion at L1 level in Holland and during the 1998 winter
show circuit Top Yellow was entered at Z1 level (third level) and dominated
on the Dutch pony riders setting scores round 66%. In 1999 Delphine competed
Yellow for the first time at FEI pony level in Belgium. Even though he
was inexperienced in the FEI pony tests, Top Yellow never scored below
60% and after one month the pony did not go under the 65% limit. Mostly
placing second behind Noble Casper, Delphine Meiresonne ruled the complete
Belgian FEI Pony level. "The original plan was to take Top Yellow to the
European Championships, but we miscalculated on training time. Top Yellow
is FEI ready, but not for a big European Championship. When we go to the
Euro Champs, we want to be at our best, and that means taking Noble Casper
who is more established. The year 2000 will be a peak in Top Yellow's career.
Pity that Delphine is 17 then, and will no longer be able to compete him,"
mother Meiresonne commented. "At the CDI-P Hagen Top Yellow won the Consolation
test and we were very pleased with that performance. He's still very young
and has a bright future ahead of him." |
