Panache, Carried
by Proud Lineage of top New Forest Pony lines
Panache
descends from the famous New Forest Pony stallion Large Rivers Cleopas,
a very popular and highly used black pony stallion for the Belgian Riding
Pony breeding programme. In sport and at breed shows, this stallion
has claimed many victories and won several places of honour. Panache's
dam sire, the jet black choice stallion Briljant, captured the title
of Stallion Champion at the New Forest Pony stallion licensing in the
Netherlands five years in a row. Panache's maternal line is also of
the highest quality and was crowned several times with the best prizes,
both in the sport and in breeding.
As a Youngster
As early as the age of three, Panache was willing to be ridden by a
nine-year-old amazone. With his natural willingness to work, he was
awarded a fantastic first and second prize in dressage competitions
that first season. Panache won many children's hearts with his playful
and provocative pearl black look, his golden character and the friendly
way he acts around children, which is very important for pony breeding
nowadays.
Superb Moving
Mechanism
This
black stallion also has various strengths on the outside. His beautiful
dark coat partly determines his inheritance. His very friendly head
and honest-looking eyes are proudly and attentively placed on a beautifully
curved neck. The good, deep shoulders, his strong loins followed by
a sturdy and well-formed hindquarters give him a fabulous upper line.
This is all carried by correctly placed legs and well developed joints.
His proud attitude, good strength and elasticity give him a large walk.
The excellent way he moves his front legs, the flexibility and exceptional
drive forwards determine his very stylish trot. His rich front and the
powerfully driving hindquarters make him gallop in a very balanced manner.
His Second Career:
Show Jumping
Panache
also looks at his best when show jumping. He flawlessly moves over the
obstacle with fine front leg technique and very good use of the back.
His qualities were obvious at the international Christmas Horse Show
in Malines, Belgium, in 1996 where he won the Belgian Equitation Championship
under former owner Iris Van der Kerckhoven
In short, Panache
has a very good motor, is overflowing with power, technique, flexibility
and willingness. And all this means he deserves a place in pony breeding.
He has many very beautiful foals and when the are presented at the foal
competions they always take away the first three prices. One of Panache's
products is a licensed pony stallion and Germany and excels in show
jumping.
Panache is FEI level
trained in dressage. This year he had scores between 63% and 67
% in the indivual and team test at FEI Pony level competitions in Belgium.
He was selected as a member of the Belgian Team for the 2000 European
Pony Championship in Hagen but daughter Julie De Deken chose, at the
last moment, to compete one of her other ponies.
