Mieke Mommen and Rocky Rock at CDN St. Niklaas

Junior rider Mieke Mommen and her Westfalian branded Rocky (by Rockwell) rocked the national dressage show in St. Niklaas. Mommen achieved the high score of the day of 69.125% in the junior riders team test. The Cup of Belgium for FEI Young horses also took place in St. Niklaas. The winners were the 4-year old Furstenstein, the 5-year old Delano and the 6-year old Chinatown's Dream.

2008 CDIO Saumur - Belgian Pony Team Wins Bronze!!!!!

Julie de Deken and her stunning Westfalian gelding Fazzino took the highest score of the day at the CDN Diepenbeek. De Deken received 70.875% from the panel of judges and won the Intermediaire I. Several riders won their class with percentages round 68%. Jorinde Verwimp, Noemie Goris, Mieke Mommen and Jeroen Devroe all received 68% + to win the test.

The Belgian national outdoor show season of 2008 started last weekend with the CDN Aalter. High scorer of the day was FEI pony rider Noemie Goris on her German bred Alexandra Dumas. She scored 68% in the pony individual test. Junior rider Tahnee Waelkens came very close to this mark by riding her Sandiegobese to 67.875% in the junior individual test.

On 3rd February 2008, a CDI Selection trial took place at Stable de Wittenberg in Herentals. Belgian FEI riders were able to achieve a qualification score to compete internationally. High score of the day was produced by Dominique Mohimont aboard Giacometti. They won the Intermediaire I with 66.375%

Julie van Olst, Mieke Mommen, Yoni de Souter, Julie de Deken and Jeroen Devroe are the new Belgian Dressage Champions, winning the championships held at Wim Verwimp's "Summer Event" in Wiekevorst, Belgium. Julie van Olst and Haasendonk's Sultan were the best in the pony division, Mieke Mommen and Rocky won at junior riders leve,n Yoni de Souter and Pentagon won the gold at young riders level. The small tour championship was dominated by former young rider Julie de Deken aboard Fazzino, while Grand Prix rider Jeroen Devroe had to put in a tough fight against Francoise Hologne Joux to reclaim the title. Julie de Deken and her Westfalian gelding Fazzino (Florestan x Rivellino xx) have won the 2007 Cup of Belgium, the inofficial PSG championship, at the CDN Herenthout on August 4 and 5, 2007. De Deken won the Prix St Georges and Intermediaire I Kur to Music with top scores, placing far ahead of second placed Hannelore Volders on Real Magic. To improve the functioning and efficiency of the VLP Dressage Committee, it has been decided to reconstitute the committee by adding additional members based on their expertise (in sports, business and experience-wise).
